JWSOC: Athletes` impressions after Sprint

The second day started with a Sprint for young sportsmen. We got some fresh comments-reviews from the finish line of the Junior competition.

Rasmus Wickbom (Sweden): The race was very good, but in the beginning I took the wrong track and I had to turn back to take a right one, so I miss about 20 seconds. Technically the course was ok, and I would say it was quite tough and tiring race, more skiing than orienteering.

Rokas Vaitkus (Lithuania): The race was quite good to me because I have some injures about month ago and was not in biggest shape. But I did some good performance today, I did not make any mistakes and the only problem was my map-holder which gets broken. The slopes were fast and the tracks were good as they were strong and you could push it by your pole on 100% of your strength.

Audun Heimdal (Norway): There were some small stops during the race, but overall it was very good. There were also some doubts which route to choose, but I was quite confident with the chosen one.

Vladislav Kiselev (Russia): There was a variant of route which I think was not the best one, Eevert Toivonen also had chosen the same one, but it was not the ideal. The conditions of tracks are different: where you can use skating style of skiing – everything is perfect, but forest tracks are leaves much to be desired.

Elmeri Toivanen (Finland): I did not do any mistakes, but some routes were a bit narrow and uncomfortable, but in overall skiing was good.

Daria Shupikova (Russia):
It was quite hustling race: hither and thither. The course was fast, but also difficult as there were some good ascents and long routes from point to point.

Veera Klemettinen (Finland): It was a nice race today but I did not get a last punch so I had to return and miss some seconds. There are so many strong competitors here and everyone can win.

Liisa Nenonen (Finland): It was hard to see all the tracks so it makes the course a bit harder. And there was one downhill that was actually bad. But my skiing was good today and I think I made good routes.
